Today (28th) there are suspected voltage sags in many places in Hong Kong, resulting in many cases of being trapped in lifts.
From 7:22 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., the fire department received at least 94 reports of being lifted by lifts, including various districts in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories, and rescuers went to rescue.
A CLP spokesman pointed out that at about 7:19 this morning, CLP's 400,000-volt UHV power supply system recorded a brief voltage dip, during which the power supply was not interrupted.
Customers may experience dimming or flickering lights, and some electrical installations that are sensitive to voltage changes, such as lifts, may suspend operation due to activation of protective devices.
CLP apologized for the inconvenience caused to customers. CLP engineers are investigating the cause of the accident and initially suspected that the incident was related to the failure of high-voltage power equipment in the substation.
