Now it's official: Peiting has a new treasurer.
Her name is Dörthe Schneider and she is currently still working in the Gröbenzell town hall as deputy head of the financial administration.
On Tuesday, the municipal council approved the personnel in a closed session.
The 53-year-old will start on April 1st.
Peiting – Mayor Peter Ostenrieder had already announced the good news at the end of December that the market town had found a successor for the long-standing Treasurer Christian Hollrieder.
As is well known, he had handed in his resignation at the end of September last year in order to change his job again.
Since January, the Peitinger has held the office of manager in Bad Kohlgrub (we reported).
At that time, the head of the town hall did not want to reveal any further details about the new treasurer, who had prevailed against other candidates in two rounds of applications.
The municipal council still had to agree to the important personal details, it said.
The committee did this on Tuesday behind closed doors as expected - unanimously, as Ostenrieder announced to the local newspaper on Wednesday.

On the same day, Mayor Dörthe Schneider informed about the pleasing result.
"We are happy, and so am I personally, that we were able to find a very competent woman with experience in many areas to succeed a really good treasurer will bring,” said Ostenrieder.
Peiting's new treasurer brings a lot of professional experience with her
In fact, the 53-year-old is very familiar with the complicated world of municipal numbers.
Since 2016, Schneider has been responsible for the cash register, taxes and accounting of the municipality as head of department in the Gröbenzell combing department.
Before that, the 53-year-old, who originally comes from Brandenburg, worked for the state administration office and the interior ministry in Thuringia for over two decades.
Employed, among other things, in the upper municipal supervision, the business graduate was entrusted with the examination of municipal budget statutes and special-purpose associations.
So Schneider knows both sides of the business.
"Financial management is my thing," says the 53-year-old about herself. She therefore sees herself easily up to the task that awaits her in Peiting.
"A lot will not be new to me."
The fact that Schneider applied for the vacant position in Peiting is not only due to the career prospects that it offered.
Her boyfriend lives in Wildsteig, and the 53-year-old, who currently lives in Olching, wants to move in with him.
It was also her partner who introduced Schneider to Peiting before applying.
"Of course I did some research, it all worked out for me."
The new treasurer will start work at the beginning of April
This also applied to the first contact with her future boss and the representatives of the administration and parliamentary groups, who sounded out the candidate during the interview.
There was a very pleasant atmosphere, says Schneider, who is looking forward to future cooperation, just like the mayor.
On April 1, the 53-year-old will move into her office in the town hall.
The municipal council can get an idea of the new treasurer in advance.
At the next non-public meeting, Schneider will introduce himself personally to the committee.
