The result: The emergency vehicles use a direct access road to the state road, the advancing fire brigade members come via the now expanded Drotwiesenweg. “This also ensures that there is no oncoming traffic here – anything else would be catastrophic. In other words, the fire station needs two separate access roads,” explained Fürst. The state building authority in Freising itself had expressed major concerns at the time and can only repeat them: "The access road to the new fire station is on the open road under road law and not within the through road," emphasizes the authority. A special permit would therefore be required to access the shed.

This was granted by the building authority as part of a statement on the development plan, but as a special use it only includes emergency trips - i.e. moving in and out to and from the site.

Ergo: It should not be used by arriving members of the fire brigade or visitors and employees of the building yard.

"The background to this is traffic safety," the state building authority underlines Fürst's statement, "The access and exit to and from the state road is safer via the roundabout and the Drotwiesenweg."
