Orban will see Putin, 'I would like to increase gas flows to Hungary' ++
Hungarian Premier will visit Moscow next Tuesday
BRUSSELS
(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, JAN 28 - Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban will try to increase the volume of natural gas imported from Russia during his visit to Moscow next Tuesday, where he will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This was announced by the Hungarian premier in his usual interview with Kossuth rádió.
"I would like to increase the amount of gas to be delivered to Hungary compared to the levels agreed in the Russian-Hungarian gas contract," Orban explained.
The reference is to the agreement signed last September with Gazprom under which the Russian state-owned gas giant has undertaken to ship 4.5 billion cubic meters of gas to Hungary every year through pipelines that bypass Ukraine.
"Obviously we cannot avoid talking about European security", added the premier.
