Shredder plant is on fire - fire brigade on duty for six hours

The fire in a large paper shredder plant in the Hochbrück commercial area kept the fire brigade in suspense until 2:30 a.m. on Friday morning.
The extinguishing work was complex and demanding.
Garching
- A six by six meter paper shredder caught fire on Thursday around 8.30 p.m. on a company premises on Gutenbergstrasse in the Hochbrück industrial park.
Around 60 emergency services from the Hochbrück and Garching volunteer fire brigades, ABC train and district fire inspection team arrived.
The fire brigade has to clear out all the paper by hand
According to the fire brigade control center, the extinguishing work was complex.
In order to be able to smother all the embers, the firefighters had to remove all the paper from the shredder by hand.
So the operation dragged on, it was only at 2.30 a.m. that the message came: "Fire off." Hochbrück's commander David Ward was in charge.
The fire brigade cannot provide any information on the cause of the fire and damage.
