In the midst of the vaccination dispute, the first optimistic plans are already being made.

Even if one or the other no longer wants to hear or read it.

Vaccination and party are directly related in these times.

Comment.

Desire and reality collide unabated in the headlines these days.

We write about optimistic projects: a folk festival celebrating the 1275th anniversary in Isen, a summer festival in Jugi Taufkirchen or the party program in Tonwerk Dorfen.

Plans like visions from a fairytale past.

At the same time, the Bundestag is debating compulsory vaccination.

The Monday walks are an outlet for protest for some, a provocation for others.

More people than ever have been infected with the corona virus at the same time.

And some are wondering if today's infection, like previous waves, will result in hospitalization in 14 days.

Everyone draws their own conclusion from it.

Some are still deliberately cautious, they are not comfortable with the rampant omicron.

Others rely on the reassuring message snippets that this virus mutation does not make as sick as previous variants.

And anyway: Does the vaccination actually do anything?

However, reputable experts strongly recommend vaccination. First of all, the mild course of the disease is an argument for immunization via injection. In many cases they are a direct consequence of the vaccination and not a whim of nature. And second, the next wave will come. However, it will only be flat if as many people as possible have as many corona antibodies as possible in their blood - usually through repeated vaccination. It has already been proven billions of times around the world that the relationship between the desired effect and potentially dangerous side effects clearly speaks in favor of the vaccine.

Hoping that only a supposedly mild virus variant will strike and not a more aggressive one - that's a high-stakes bet.

Anyone who consciously takes this risk is not just playing with their own health.

The fact that all the planned celebrations would then be canceled would be the least of the problems in summer and autumn – as in the past two years.
