Seven people lost their lives in a shooting that took place this Friday in the Villanueva neighborhood east of Tegucigalpa, the spokesman for the Military Police and Public Order, Mario Rivera, told CNN.
According to Rivera, the incident occurred between groups of criminal organizations at the time they entered a vehicle to a person they had kidnapped.
The bodies of the victims, six men and one woman, were scattered in one of the streets of Colonia Villanueva.

Rivera assures that the Military Police in an operation arrested two people suspected of having participated in the multiple crime.

He noted that several vehicles and firearms were seized at the crime scene.
In addition, the military official added that the person who had been deprived of liberty in one of the cars was rescued alive.
Rivera said that this is the second massacre that has taken place in this area, since on January 7 three people dedicated to the transportation sector were allegedly murdered for opposing the payment of extortion.
This is the first massacre that has taken place in the government of Xiomara Castro Sarmiento, who assumed the presidency of Honduras on January 27 and who in his speech pointed out that one of his challenges would be to combat insecurity in the Central American country.
