The municipalities around the Tegernsee have new websites.
It is already clear on the start page of the new Bad Wiessee website: The town on the west bank is going its own way.
Tegernseer Tal
– It is now known that the Mayor of Wiesse, Robert Kühn (SPD), likes to communicate via social networks and also has a soft spot for digital channels such as YouTube.
"We want to be a dynamic community," emphasizes the head of the town hall.
This is exactly what should also be expressed in Bad Wiessee's new website.
Bad Wiessee greets you with its own logo and a different look
Even the home page differs significantly from the appearances of the other four valley municipalities, which present themselves there with their respective municipal coat of arms and the same appearance of the menu.
Bad Wiessee, on the other hand, welcomes the digital visitor with a casual "Servus" and its own logo with a church and is the only valley community that also has the sub-item "Wiessee TV", which takes the user directly to the image film.
There's also an innovation in the Wiesseer online citizen's bot: You no longer have to laboriously scroll to the desired position, you can flip through it page by page.
Mayor Kühn: Shouldn't be an affront to the other communities
The basic structure, explains Kühn, is the same for all municipal websites around Lake Tegernsee.
The company behind the new website is also one and the same.
"However, during the development process we realized that we wanted some things to be different," reports Kühn, who under no circumstances wants this to be seen as an affront to the neighboring municipalities.
Every community has its own priorities.
In any case, the mayor is very satisfied with the result of the Wiesseer homepage: The homepage is simple, clear and user-friendly, says Kühn.
"People don't need more."
Old websites were no longer up to date
The municipalities of the Tegernsee Valley had agreed some time ago that a new and up-to-date website was needed.
Also that they want to take a common direction across the valley.
The old homepages were no longer up to date, says Kühn.
The technical handling, especially on mobile devices, no longer worked properly.
Tegernsee, functionality is more important than looks
In addition to the municipalities of Bad Wiessee, Rottach-Egern, Kreuth and Gmund, the city of Tegernsee has recently gone online with its new website.
Mayor Johannes Hagn (CSU) is less concerned with the optics ("the TTT presents great pictures on its homepage"), but with the user-friendliness.
“A good search function is important,” says Hagn.
Visitors to the homepage should be able to find the information they are looking for on the town hall website as quickly and intuitively as possible.
Everything else is a matter of taste.
"I don't want to enter a beauty pageant here," says Hagn.
Improvements are still needed on the Tegernsee website
Some improvements are still needed on the Tegernsee website.
"That's not the end of the story," Hagn admits.
For example, the search function is still lacking, and the citizen information system is also too hidden on the new website.
However, these problems should be resolved by February 1st, the head of the town hall announced.
Waakirchen is left out on the valley-wide website
The municipality of Waakirchen is left out when it comes to the topic of “joint internet presence”.
Their homepage has always had a layout that is independent of the valley communities.
According to Mayor Norbert Kerkel (FWG), a renewal of the six to seven year old website is not yet under discussion.
“There is nothing pressing at the moment.” However, Waakirchen will keep an eye on the topic.
