An elderly woman perished this evening (Saturday) in a fire that broke out in an apartment in a two-story building near the Tomb of David on Mount Zion.
Three policemen were also lightly injured in the incident by inhaling smoke, and the apartment burned down completely.
The woman was rescued by fire and rescue crews and handed over to MDA medics and paramedics who were forced to determine her death.
Earlier today, a fire broke out in the Nofim shelter for the disabled in Migdal.
Firefighters evacuated the shelters, where smoke was discovered on the floor where they were, and extinguished the fire that broke out in the warehouse.
There were no casualties in the incident, but the building was damaged.
