Family dispute blocks new apartments, medical center and supermarket

An internal family dispute blocked the construction project on Putzbrunner Strasse in Hohenbrunn.

A Rewe supermarket, a medical center and a few apartments have long been planned, but when or if the project on Putzbrunner Straße in Hohenbrunn will be implemented at all: That is and remains a stalemate.

Ultimately, an internal family dispute blocked the construction project.

- Five years ago, in January 2017, it became known that the Schulz community of heirs is said to have sold the 16,000 square meters of arable land to an investor.

In March 2020, the municipal council approved the construction project, and in 2022 Mayor Stefan Straßmair (CSU) said about the current state of affairs: “The building permit has been created, we as a municipality have done our homework.

It could start at any time.”

Owner: "I won't let a block of concrete be put in my face"

The fact that this does not happen is due to Egid Schulz, who has owned the car dealership directly next door since 1975.

Within the community of heirs, he owns one of the five shares that the investor needs as the last piece of the puzzle, but the 69-year-old is not willing to give it up: “They can forget about the supermarket.

I won't let myself be locked up and put a concrete block like that in front of my nose," emphasized Egid Schulz to the Münchner Merkur.

The investor wants to pay him 1.7 million euros for the remaining share, but: "I'm not taking the money." And he won't change his mind so quickly, "I'm not getting anything out of it".

Mayor is powerless

A disputed community of heirs, whose disagreement prevents a construction project.

"It's important to me that the people in Hohenbrunn finally have an attractive place to shop," says Mayor Stefan Straßmair.

But Egid Schulz is not expected to give in and sell the share he needs for the construction project any time soon.
