The planning for the cultural festival Gap.beinand in Garmisch-Partenkirchen is already in full swing.

Those who want to take part in the spectacle, which is scheduled to take place from July 13th to 17th, can still register until February 11th.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen – catching up in terms of art and culture, what had to be canceled, what couldn’t take place – that’s what everyone is hoping for in the summer of 2022. Nobody would have thought that Corona would keep everyone in suspense this winter. “Many of the local clubs and cultural actors are suffering from the break caused by the pandemic. They want to be back on stage,” Elisabeth Koch, First Mayor of the municipality of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, put it in a nutshell in a press release on the new edition of Gap.beinand.

Now there is hope to plan optimistically for the warm season and outdoors.

Sandra Debus, specialist for culture in the town hall, is happy about the numerous ideas for the culture festival for everyone that have already been received.

It will take place this year from July 13th to 17th.

A wide variety of projects, innovative, inclusive and networked, from the fields of fine arts, literature, tradition, theatre, music and other cultural sectors will be on the program for these days.

Under Corona regulations and sometimes adverse weather conditions, there was a first new edition last summer.

It should be colorful and equally interesting and appealing for young and old in 2022.

The ZAMMA follow-up project is again financially supported by the district of Upper Bavaria and with funds from the cultural promotion of the Garmisch-Partenkirchen market.

"Exciting things, great ideas are already on my desk," Debus enthuses. "Trashwalk, 'a wall is a screen' film project, juggler convention, family hike with legend reading, 'Ami Wally' concert, Schneefernerhaus environmental project, Tiny Noize Club, carnival of the animals and spa park festival," she names a few examples. Most events are planned outside with free or very cheap admission.

Whether you are a club, cultural institution, social organization or private individual, anyone who would like to be part of the culture festival can submit their application or idea to the e-mail address kultur@gapa.de until February 11th.

"We invite everyone who is interested to join in and take part", the mayor would like to encourage cultural workers to be creative and to participate.
