More than 2.4 million children studying in the various education frameworks in Israel will be required to go to kindergartens and schools tomorrow (Sunday) after performing a negative home corona test and report it on the Ministry of Education portal, thus being exempt from isolation, as part of the new test outline.
Simultaneously with the beginning of the test outline, the battle between the Teachers' Union and the Ministry of Education over the outline continued.
The teachers' union demanded a postponement of the opening of the outline on the grounds that it endangers the health of teachers and that the Ministry of Education is not properly prepared to implement it.
Tonight, the parties will hold a meeting in the presence of the Director General of the Ministry of Education, Dalit Stauber, the Secretary General of the Teachers' Union, Yaffa Ben-David, and a senior member of the Ministry of Health.
This, following the ruling between the law and Labor on Friday, to extend the temporary order prohibiting the teachers' union from striking despite the health concerns raised by it.
The Histadrut must update the tribunal on the progress of contacts regarding the government plan by Monday at ten o'clock in the morning.

Tests twice a week: This is how the layout will be done
The new outline is intended for all students in kindergartens, nurseries, elementary schools, middle schools and high schools.
As part of this, a student must perform a home test on Sundays and Wednesdays, before reaching the framework in which he is studying, and report the result on the Ministry of Education portal.
The tests are supposed to be given to the students for free.
It should be noted that the outline does not apply to teaching staff, so unvaccinated teachers should still go into isolation in case of contact with a corona patient.
Those who came out negative on examination will be able to attend school, even if they have been in contact with a corona patient.
It should be noted that in case of close exposure to verified, the Ministry of Health recommends performing a test every day for five days.
Those who came out positive will be forced to perform an institutional rapid check.
If it comes out negative - he will be able to get to school, if it is also positive, he will have to go in for at least five days in solitary confinement as anyone who is infected with corona does, according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.

Who will still have to go into isolation?
Unvaccinated students who do not perform tests twice a week and have come in contact with a corona patient will be forced to go into full isolation, with the option of shortening it to five days.
Unvaccinated whose family member lives with them is positive, will also go into isolation, and will be able to leave after five days subject to a negative result in an institutional examination.
Also, students suffering from corona symptoms will remain at home and will be able to return only asymptomatic, subject to a negative home examination.
Who is exempt from testing?
Students who have recovered from corona are exempt from testing two months after recovery.
In addition to them, special education students are also exempt from performing the tests twice a week.
Students attending schools participating in the "Education Shield" program will not perform rapid tests twice a week as long as they do a weekly PCR test at the school.
