Tehran-Sana
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi renewed his country's demands to abolish and verify US and Western sanctions against it and to give credible guarantees as a prelude to any future agreement on reviving the nuclear agreement.
The Iranian news agency IRNA quoted Raisi as saying, during a phone call he received today from his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, that Tehran is serious about reaching a sustainable agreement, but the opposite party should lift the embargo in a verifiable way and give guarantees that this will continue.
Raisi reiterated Tehran's position that regional stability and security can only be achieved through dialogue within the region and not through interventions from outside, calling for the international community's attention to the humanitarian crisis facing the Yemeni people and the removal of the unjust siege imposed on it.
The Iranian presidency indicated that the Iranian and French presidents also discussed ways to consolidate relations between their two countries.
The parties participating in the Vienna talks on reviving the nuclear agreement signed between Iran and Western countries in 2015 decided yesterday to suspend these talks for several days.
