RB Leipzig is the first Bundesliga club to take legal action against the current spectator limit for home games.

The sixth in the table has applied to the Saxon Higher Administrative Court in Bautzen for an interim order in urgent proceedings because of the current upper limit of 1000 spectators in the local arena, as RB announced on Saturday.

Leipzig – With the application, the people of Leipzig hope to obtain a short-term solution for home games in the Red Bull Arena, which represents “a decision that is objectively fair, justified and understandable for all parties”.

At the beginning of the week, RB Leipzig's CEO Oliver Mintzlaff reacted with harsh criticism to the decisions of the federal and state governments on the corona measures.

Mintzlaff did not rule out legal action in order to be able to allow more spectators to watch Bundesliga games again.
