Director of Agriculture in the Damascus Countryside Governorate, Eng. Irfan Ziadeh, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the consignment, which includes 1,350,000 seeds of tomatoes and cucumbers, found after subjecting them to analysis in quarantine centers that the information on the seed envelope is not compatible with the imported variety and violates the laws governing plant quarantine .
Ziadeh pointed out that the date of the bill of lading and the certificate of origin came before the approval of the Ministry of Agriculture, and it was found that the attached health certificate included other types of seeds not mentioned in the approval, stressing that they were banned from entering Syria and asking the Customs Directorate to re-export them.
