Russia transfers Pantsir-S air defense battalion to Belarus

A source in the Russian Defense Ministry said that, within the framework of checking the readiness of the rapid response forces of the European Union, Russia continues to transfer equipment and weapons and redeploy forces in Belarus.

The RIA Novosti news agency quoted the source as telling reporters today that in the framework of this operation, a battalion of air defense systems, Pantsir-S missiles, was transported by trains from the Eastern Military District of Russia to the unloading station in Belarus.

According to the video published by the Russian Defense Ministry, the Pantsir-S battalion that arrived in Belarus includes 12 combat vehicles, each of which can carry 12 anti-aircraft missiles in transport and launch containers.

The source explained that after unloading, the battalion will head with its equipment and personnel to the designated areas for its deployment within the unified regional air defense system of Belarus and Russia.
