Penzberg – The Corona test center in the Penzberg town hall has expanded its capacities.

The reason is the great demand.

Adrian Auer and his team are practically overrun every day.

It is not uncommon for long queues to form at the entrance to the side hall of the Stadthalle.

Especially on Sundays, many parents bring their offspring to the corona test for school attendance.

The landlord of the city's "Koinschaufe" has been offering corona tests here since the end of November.

The free "citizen test" is carried out daily, from Monday to Sunday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Registration and appointments are easy via the Internet or a QR code, and the test certificates are then conveniently sent by e-mail (Rundschau reported).

Wirt Auer brought the "Covitest Rapid Test Center Bavaria" from the Passau-based company GET Schank- und Service on board as a partner for the facility.

Software was adjusted on Friday

Last Friday (January 28), some visitors were surprised to find the door locked.

The test center is currently closed for technical reasons, according to specially erected signs at the entrance.

It only started again in the late afternoon.

The reason: The software had to be readjusted because Auer and his team had expanded the range.

The reception in the side room of the town hall is new.

Twice as many PCR tests possible

Due to the great demand, the Stadthallenwirt, whose gastronomy is currently closed due to the Corona situation, has expanded capacities and concept, as he told the Rundschau the next day.

"We now have twice the possibility of PCR tests," explains Auer.

In addition, the logistics have also been redesigned: there is now a reception area, only then does it go in the direction of the test cabins, into which the staff will call you in individually.

There are now three cabins.

One is always in operation, the others can be added as needed.

There are always two employees on site.

"But we can expand," explains the operator.

In total, Auer has around 15 employees.

Clear rules: one of the three cabins is always occupied, the rest can be put into operation as required.

Health department was involved

The whole thing was officially approved: "We work closely with the health department," says Auer.

In addition to the PCR tests (75 euros), there are also free rapid corona tests, of which up to 1000 are possible daily, according to Auer.

But the Penzberger is already thinking further and of a stronger omicron wave: "We are prepared for more."

This is how the registration works

The test station in the Penzberger Stadthalle (entrance via the beer garden) is open Monday to Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Registration via the QR code (signs at the Stadthalle and in the city area) or directly on the Internet at https://schnelltestzentrum.bayern/.

Observe hygiene rules

Despite the good preparation, the support of the test customers is also needed for smooth operation.

Auer asks that you adhere to the hygiene rules and, above all, one thing when you visit: "Keep your distance."
