For social worker Julia König, the turn of the year also meant a change of location and job: she has been a member of the Echinger ASZ team since January 1st.

Eching

- The 33-year-old takes over the work area of colleague and social worker Barbara Hammrich.

She in turn, who has been with the company since 2017, succeeded Klaus Dieter Walter as deputy managing director, who has retired.

As a new resident of Echingen, Julia König can count herself lucky that she found a rental apartment straight away in the tense housing market: “There are still a few unpacked moving boxes,” says the new ASZ employee with a smile.

Your priorities at the moment are “arriving” at your new place of residence and work.

In the latter case, she is supported very well by a "great team" and goes through all areas of the ASZ "inner life".

She is looking forward to getting to know the new environment and growing into her new place of work.

Instructive time in a special academy

Julia König is a Munich child and grew up with two sisters in the districts of Neuaubing and Pasing.

After graduating in social work at the Fachoberschule in Pasing, she attended the one-year basic seminar at the Diakonenschule in Rummelsberg.

The Evangelical Academy is the only training center in Bavaria where deacons can complete a double degree with a church-theological training parallel to a pedagogical, social or nursing one.

A very intensive and enriching time, says Julia König today, but in the end it wasn't the career path that felt right for her.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

König then successfully applied to study social work with a focus on youth and adult education at the Evangelical University in Nuremberg, which was accompanied by a practical semester at the Nuremberg family counseling service. As with her majors in her studies as well as her voluntary work, Julia König's professional practice includes various social and educational fields of activity and target groups - from working with children and young people to senior citizens.

The social pedagogue was able to gain a wide range of experience, for example in the area of alcohol prevention for children and young people, as a social service manager in a nursing home, in the Kolping Training Center in Nuremberg with mini-jobbers and long-term unemployed people, with unemployed people with mental illnesses and most recently in the psychiatric department at the North Clinic in Nuremberg Day clinic and outpatient clinic.

Close to her family again

In a multi-generation house like the Echinger ASZ, they now have an area of application where people of all ages come together.

Julia König is looking forward to this task.

And after 13 years of study and work outside of Munich, she is really happy to be able to return to her family.

In her free time, Julia König enjoys reading and writing.

She has been a fervent fan of 1860 Munich since she was little and follows every game.

And even if the new apartment isn't fully furnished yet: The blue 1960s flag is already hanging on the wall.
