Scientists have monitored the emergence of a new derivative of the mutant Omicron in some European countries and the United States, which spreads more quickly and does not appear in the analysis of the Corona virus smear.
The American magazine Scientist quoted Cameron Wolfe, an expert in infectious diseases at Duke University School of Medicine, as saying: “What was recently detected is a new version of the Omicron mutant called (PA2), explaining that the inability of the analyzes to detect it made scientists call it the name (Omicron invisibility).
Wolf described O'Mikron and its new derivative as brothers from the same family, where there are slight differences, but most of the genes are similar.
In turn, scientists in India documented some differences between the omicron mutant and the derived mutant (PA2), as there is a slight difference in the shape of the protein, while Gabriel Leung, dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Hong Kong, suggested that the new mutant omicron derivative may spread 35 percent faster than the original mutant.
It is noteworthy that although the Omicron mutant does not cause serious symptoms that require hospitalization, it has more than 30 mutations in the spinal protein on the surface of the virus, which gave it the ability to deprive the effectiveness of vaccines.
Earlier, WHO officials said: “The new mutant of the Corona virus that will draw the world’s attention will be more contagious than Omicron, but what scientists really need to answer is whether it will be more deadly or not.
