Palestinians in the village of Khan al-Ahmar, east of occupied Jerusalem, face the threat of forced displacement as a result of the new Israeli occupation plan to evacuate the village in preparation for its demolition, in flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.

In its weekly report published today on its website, the National Office for the Defense of Land and Settlement Resistance of the Palestine Liberation Organization stated that within the framework of the policy of forced displacement and ethnic cleansing implemented by the occupation in the occupied Palestinian territories, the occupation authorities announced a new plan aimed at evacuating the village of Khan al-Ahmar in occupied Jerusalem, despite the confirmation The International Criminal Court states that deportation is a war crime.

The report indicated that hundreds of Palestinians live in the village after the occupation abandoned them in 1948 from their lands in the Negev, pointing out that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) established a school in the village serving 170 students from several places in the area.

The report indicated that the people, with their steadfastness, foiled a similar scheme in 2018, and that they affirmed their rejection of any schemes of the occupation aimed at uprooting them from their land and displacing them again.

The report pointed out that the occupation also announced a plan to establish a new settlement outpost in the Bab al-Khalil area, one of the gates of the Old City of Jerusalem, as part of a comprehensive plan to Judaize all the gates of the historic town, indicating that Bab al-Khalil is the second largest gate in the western Jerusalem wall and is the main entrance to the city.

The report stated that the occupation authorities seized 500 dunums of Palestinian lands between the town of Al-Isawiya and Shuafat camp in Jerusalem to establish a settlement outpost, while the occupation forces demolished two houses in the town of Al-Tur, east of the Holy City.

The report indicated that the occupation forces bulldozed 50 dunums of lands in the Al-Fqiqis area in Dura town in Hebron and another 50 dunums of lands in the villages of Sinria in Qalqilya and Masha in Salfit to expand settlement operations.

The report indicated that the settlers continue their attacks on the cities and towns of the West Bank under the protection of the occupation forces. They prevented farmers in the village of Zanouta, south of Hebron, from plowing their lands, and stormed the villages of Shaab al-Butm and al-Fakhit in the Masafer Yatta area and the old city of the city. They destroyed crops in 60 agricultural dunums of agricultural land in the Derya area in the town of Kafr ad-Dik in Salfit, and uprooted 200 olive trees from the lands west of the town, while forcing Palestinian shepherds to leave their grazing lands in the Khallet Mahkul area in the northern Jordan Valley.
