The Syrian Society for Child Cancer Care and Treatment has provided treatment to more than 735,000 cancer patients in a number of Syrian governorates since its establishment ten years ago and until today.
Muzna Alabi, head of the association, stated in a statement to SANA reporter, during the cancer awareness activity that she organized today in front of the Aleppo Citadel, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the association’s founding, that 240 children were cured of cancer thanks to the care, attention, and medical and treatment services provided to patients while continuing to monitor their condition. health.
Olabi pointed to the continuation of work to eradicate this disease by securing the necessary doses and medicines, through government support provided to patients and cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and its directorates in the governorates, noting that there are medical centers affiliated with the association that provide treatment to patients in the governorates of Damascus, Aleppo, Hama, Deir ez-Zor and Al-Hasakah with the aim of alleviating About the sick and the trouble of travel and the moral and psychological burden on them.
In turn, Dr. Eng. Ahmed Dabbas, a member of the association’s board of directors, explained that treatment and medical services were provided to cancer patients throughout the years of the terrorist war and the siege on Syria, despite the difficulties that this left behind, noting the efforts made by charitable bodies and volunteers to reach children in their homes and provide them with treatment, stressing the continuation of fighting and combating the disease. all over Syria.
For his part, Mustafa Abu Soof, director of administrative affairs in the association, spoke about the spread of the disease in the eastern regions of Syria as a result of the pollution taking place there and the inhumane situation that the people live in and their suffering from terrorist organizations, noting the continued provision of cancer drugs and doses to patients as a supportive and health activity and a parallel to government efforts to treat this disease.
In turn, Doaa Al-Nabhan, a volunteer in the association, pointed out that the association continues to register and accept the affected cases of children and provide them with therapeutic, social services and psychological support, as treatment services were provided to more than three thousand children last month.
It is noteworthy that the Syrian Society for Children with Cancer was established in 2012 and still provides medical and treatment services to children affected by the disease.
