The grandson was arrested after the discovery of 23 kg of cannabis resin, a firearm and 7000 euros in cash.

Good pick for the investigators of the Juvisy police station.

The latter made a nice drug seizure at the beginning of the week by searching an apartment located on rue Jacques-Cartier.

They discovered nearly 23 kilos of cannabis resin and 98 grams of herbal cannabis, as well as a handgun with five cartridges, two knives and the sum of 7,000 euros.

The alleged owner of all these belongings was also arrested.

The investigation had started, as is often the case with narcotics, with anonymous information indicating that large quantities of drugs were stored in this accommodation.

This apartment is in fact that of the grandmother of the alleged dealer, already well known to the police for narcotics cases.

After investigation and cross-checking, the police went to the grandmother's house with a dog specialized in the detection of narcotics, which marked in front of the door of the accommodation.

The released grandmother

The owner of the apartment was present with her grandson.

Both were taken to the police station.

The grandmother was released after being heard as a simple witness.

His grandson, who has an address in the sensitive city of Grande Borne in Grigny, was placed in police custody and then referred to the prosecution of Évry.

The suspect was remanded in custody.

This is the second major seizure in the space of 15 days in the department.

On January 17, two bikers from the municipal police of Évry-Courcouronnes (Essonne) intercepted a van carrying nearly 300 kg of cannabis resin.

The 23-year-old driver of this vehicle was taken into custody.
