Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed in a telephone conversation today with Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi the situation in Ukraine and Russia's demands regarding security guarantees.

"Putin emphasized the importance of observing the principle of indivisibility of security, a basic principle enshrined in the documents of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe signed at the highest level," TASS news agency quoted the Kremlin as saying in a statement.

During the phone call, Putin referred to Kiev's evasion of implementing its commitments, especially those related to the political aspects of resolving the internal Ukrainian conflict, stressing the need for Kiev to take concrete steps to implement the Minsk agreements.

Putin stressed Russia's readiness to continue to ensure the stability of Russian natural gas supplies to Italy.

On the other hand, the Russian President announced that work is currently underway on the issue of transferring the technology for the production of the Russian Corona vaccine to Hungary.

"We have supplied more than 5 million doses of vaccines to Hungary... and we are currently working on transferring technologies and production lines," Putin said during his meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Moscow today.

For his part, Orban indicated that his visit to Moscow is "partly" related to attempts to achieve peace between the European Union and Russia, and said that none of the European Union leaders wants to wage wars and conflicts with Moscow.

For his part, Putin said that he will brief Orban on the progress of the negotiations that Russia is conducting with the United States and NATO on security guarantees.
