Some demonstrators gathered in Hung Hom in August and October 2019, and they did not disperse until the early hours of the morning. The police arrested many people.
Among them, 3 men and 1 woman denied illegal assembly and were tried for a total of 5 crimes. District Judge Chen Guangchi today (4th) convicted the 4 people. He also specifically mentioned that all the defendants had cardboards hidden on them, and there were multiple legal support communications on the papers. The methods, and after being arrested, saying: "I have nothing to say." What you need to know about your arrest, etc., are considered to reflect the organization and coverage behind them.
He first obtained multiple reports for them, and adjourned the sentencing until February 25, during which time the four defendants remained in custody.
Four defendants: Zhang Handong (27, security guard), Yao Zihao (25, audio technician), 16-year-old girl and Tang Jianlong (21, student).
They were charged with one count of unlawful assembly, alleging that they participated in unlawful assembly in the vicinity of Hung Hom Road, Tak On Street and Tak Man Street on August 11, 2019.
In addition, Zhang was also charged with possession of explosives, a mixture of potassium chlorate and ammonium chloride, to attack police officer Lu Zhenye, and possession of a catapult with marbles, a knife and a hammer and other offensive weapons.
Yao Zihao was charged with possessing a projector and a laser pointer.
16 year old student backpack with saline
Judge Chen Guangchi said in his ruling that he ruled that the defendants participated in an illegal assembly, taking into account the clothes and equipment of the defendants when they were arrested, as well as the location where they were arrested.
The judge pointed out that the incident occurred in August, and the third defendant put her elbows on her hands in the early hours of the morning. She also questioned that she was a middle school student, but there was physiological saline in her backpack.
The judge further described that the first defendant was in possession of a helmet, goggles, a "pig's mouth", an aerial camera, armor, and a hand arm, and his heavy equipment showed that he was a participant.
Paper card teaching arrest to say no talk and do not need to unlock the phone
In addition, the first defendant had two cardboards on his body, on which there were several communication methods for legal support, as well as information on arrest, reminding the police that he could answer "I have nothing to say" to the police after being arrested, and that he did not need to unlock his own phone for the police. On the phone, the judge said that these all reflected the organization and coverage behind it, but the judge did not comment on whether the companies or organizations on the card encouraged crime, nor did they comment on whether they violated professional codes.
Some defendants hid knives and hammers
The judge therefore ruled that the four defendants were guilty of unlawful assembly.
The judge also ruled that the first defendant was charged with another charge, and described that the first defendant possessed a knife and a hammer, etc., which were fully equipped and could be used to injure people if necessary, but the judge believed that the second defendant was charged with a projector and a a laser pointer, and the projector is not an offensive weapon.
The judge first requested the training center and rehabilitation center reports for the third defendant, and background reports for the other three defendants.
