It has been known for a long time that the municipality of Gauting will need a new building yard in a few years.

There have been references to the location in budget consultations, and not everyone likes it.

Gauting - For a "basic determination" for the relocation of the Gautinger building yard to the future "Gautinger Feld" industrial park (next to Asklepios), 40,000 euros are estimated in the municipal budget for 2022.

At the current, unsuitable location on Grubmühlerfeldstraße, the construction yard has no possibility of expansion, explained the head of the building construction department, Christiane Ait, when asked by SPD parliamentary group spokesman Eberhard Brucker.

Eberhard Brucker addressed the topic at the most recent Finance Committee meeting, as a result of the storage of road salt the girders of the hall were damaged.

According to the budget, the municipality had already invested 50,000 euros in security measures in the warehouse last year.

Since further repairs cannot be postponed any longer, there are considerations to relocate the building yard to the municipal area "Gautinger Feld" in the future, said the SPD parliamentary group spokesman - but in his eyes this new location is "unfavorable".

The main working area of ​​the building yard is the core area of ​​the main town of Gauting, in Buchendorf and Stockdorf.

If the depot were to be relocated to Gauting West, there would be longer distances and therefore additional working hours.

That is why he pleads for the preservation of the building yard at the Grubmühlerfeldstrasse location.

But it's not all that simple.

"We are in close contact with the structural engineer," said Christiane Ait.

The necessary work on the salt hall has already been completed to 90 percent.

The last measures will follow this year.

This would secure the existence of the building yard for at least five years.

However, the location is generally not the right one: there are no expansion options, the site borders directly on residential buildings.

That is why she urgently recommends another location for the near future, according to the head of the building construction department.

Maximilian Platzer (CSU) criticized that Eberhard Brucker was only pushing the already full Gautinger “backpack” with a decent investment backlog “into the next generation” with his proposal.

As the community grows, so do the demands on the building yard.

"We cannot afford a general renovation at the current location," said the Christsoziale.

It therefore makes more sense to sell the previous building yard property in the center and to build a new, larger depot "at low investment costs", added Mayor Dr.

The municipal property "Gautinger Feld" is definitely suitable as a new location.
