Police today (4th) in Tseung Kwan O, Kwai Chung and Sham Shui Po again arrested 3 female residential staff aged 24 and 45. They are suspected of abusing or neglecting children or young people in their care and are being detained investigation.

The police said earlier that the case involved a large number of CCTV footage, and it is estimated that 60,000 hours of footage will need to be reviewed. It is not ruled out that there will be more arrests.

So far, 23 people have been arrested in the child abuse case at Tongleju, and the total number of child victims has reached 39. All of them have been sent to the hospital for examination.

On December 22 last year, the police received a report from Tong Le Ju, claiming to have received a complaint from the public that a staff member abused children at the outdoor playground of the institution.

The police immediately launched an investigation, seized and reviewed CCTV footage, and found that some children were abused by staff members by beating their heads, pulling their hair, slapping them, knocking children to the ground, or "burying them in walls". On Sunday, December 29, January 3, January 11 this year, and today (21), 18 women were arrested, all of whom were child care workers in the institution, aged between 23 and 63, and charged. One count each of "Assault against a child or juvenile in the custody".

In view of the large number of video clips involved in the case, the West Kowloon Criminal Headquarters quickly dispatched 21 detectives to set up a special team to review the CCTV footage with all their might.

The institution submits information to the police in stages. As of January 8 this year, the police have seized 46,000 hours of footage. The task force has completed 13% of the work. It is estimated that 60,000 hours of footage will need to be reviewed, which will take 2 months to complete. View work.
