The businessman Arnaud Mimran and three other people will be tried in November before the criminal court of Créteil for a case of corruption within the prison of Fresnes (Val-de-Marne), learned this Friday February 4 the AFP from sources familiar with the matter.

Three inmates of the penitentiary centre, including one of the figures of the “
carbon tax
” scam Arnaud Mimran, are suspected of having benefited from a privileged detention regime thanks to the favors of the detention director of the wing where they were incarcerated, Khalid El Khal.
This Fresnes division head is being prosecuted for having received money in exchange for advantages granted to these detainees, including access to mobile phones in the cell, more regular showers or support to obtain visiting rooms and sentence adjustments .
Tried for passive corruption and criminal association
He will be tried from November 8 to 10 for passive corruption and criminal association, alongside three detainees considered to be "
the corrupters
", prosecuted for active corruption.
They are Arnaud Mimran, Éric Robic, the French driver who ran over an Israeli in Tel Aviv in September 2011 before fleeing, and Fabrice Touil, another actor in the CO2 scam.
In the case of Arnaud Mimran, the director is suspected of having played a role in his transfer to Le Havre prison, according to the referral order signed on May 27.
