Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, the island of Bali has not received any foreign holidaymakers.
In a few days it will finally be time: guests will be allowed to enter again.
Jakarta - The Indonesian holiday island of Bali will open its borders to tourists from all over the world on February 4th for the first time since the beginning of the corona pandemic.
"This is to help revitalize Bali's economy, which has been hit hard by the pandemic," government pandemic officer Luhut Pandjaitan said.
Therefore, despite the corona numbers, which have been increasing for days, due to the contagious omicron variant, the decision was made to open it.
Bali is dependent on the important tourism industry, which has been almost completely on the ground since April 2020.
In 2019, more than six million holidaymakers traveled to the island, which is known for its temples, rice fields and beaches.
These Corona rules apply to entry into Bali
The Indonesian island reopened to holidaymakers from countries such as Spain, France, New Zealand and Japan in autumn 2021 - but Germany was not there*. The opening on February 4 should apply to travelers worldwide. The following rules must then be observed:
Anyone who has complete basic protection with the second syringe that is usually necessary must be in quarantine for five days in a hotel of their choice
. Those who only have one primary vaccination must isolate themselves for seven days. The travelers have to pay for the quarantine hotel themselves. In addition, a
negative PCR test
that is not older than 72 hours is required
for entry .
This also applies to children under the age of 12.
As the online portal
Reisereporter
also reports, travelers need proof of
health insurance
with coverage of up to USD 100,000 that covers corona cases.
They must also apply for a
visa
(Visit Visa B211A), which can be extended four times by 30 days each.
