The new home "Seeseitn" of the Bavarian Yacht Club is scheduled for completion in 2023.
The demolition of the old buildings has already begun.
Starnberg – After a lengthy and tough approval phase, the Bavarian Yacht Club (BYC) has started construction work on its “Seeseitn” project.
To be precise, first the demolition.
The old bunks and the workshop on the lake shore are already gone, the old pilot hangar, which has already been gutted, is still there.
At this point, an airy, transparent wood and steel construction is to be created.
The floor slab should be installed by Easter and the basis for the new building should be in place.
"This is the next milestone," says BYC Vice-Chairman Dr.
Martin Kapitza.
"No rusty nail should fall in the water," says BYC Vice-Chairman Dr.

If you want to build directly on the lake, there are a lot of conditions.
Kapitza describes it as follows: "No rusty nail should fall in the water." The "Seeseitn" project costs the club four million euros according to the current status. Previously, there had been talk of a budget of 3.3 million euros.
"We have made adjustments and raised qualities," explains the BYC vice in general.
And the ancillary costs for planning, for expert opinions and other things would have increased - also due to the length of the procedure.
The club wants to open its new home on the See-Filetgrundstück on Nepomukweg in 2023.

Changing rooms for regattas and training sessions, toilets and a beach bar with a large sun terrace directly on the water are to be built on the ground floor, club and youth rooms are planned on the upper floor.
There is also space for a "Wall of Fame" where the club wants to commemorate sports greats like Jochen Schümann.
In addition, a new slipway for modern sports boats and a floating dock are planned.
The message from the board of directors has been for years: All members should feel comfortable in the new 1500 square meter area.
And especially the youngsters: With 250 members, the BYC has the largest German youth department.
"The Bavarian State Sports Association and the Castles and Lakes Administration support and promote the club, in particular because of its successful youth work," writes Kapitza in a press release.
a lot of persuasion was needed to gain broad approval from the association
The board of directors had to do a lot of persuasion to get broad approval within the association.
At a general meeting in November 2018, however, more than 90 percent voted in favor of the project.
Incidentally, thanks to a construction site webcam, members and other interested parties can follow the progress of the new system online on the homepage ww.byc.de.
Under "Aktuelles" and then "Seeseitn-News" the club always provides new photos.
