Ayse Yul and her three children lost almost everything in the major fire in Markt Schwaben two weeks ago.

They had lived in the house.

Now there are fundraisers.

Markt Schwaben – Residents from the opposite side shouted that they should leave the house quickly.

The siblings Akile (22), Adile (21) and Haci (15) did it in time.

The fire was already raging on the ground floor of the residential and commercial building on the Schwabener Marktplatz.

"We quickly packed up what we could and ran out," says Adile.

At that time, the single mother of the three children, Ayse Yul, was still in the small snack bar ("Ephesus") around the corner, which she has been running with her uncle Osman Yul since 2009.

Outside they could only watch as the fire brigades tried to put out the fire.

The police suspect a technical defect on the ground floor as the cause of the fire, which broke out exactly two weeks ago.

Ayse Yul and her children lived at the top of the residential and commercial building, now they have next to nothing.

The furniture has become unusable due to the fire and the heavy smoke in the house as well as the extinguishing work.

The mother now lives in a nearby guesthouse with her two daughters, Akile and Adile, and her son, Haci.

Osman Yul, who took over the organization for his niece Ayse and her children after the fire, says the price was reasonable for them.

Markt Schwaben: Fire victims hope for a new apartment

The 55-year-old says that an apartment may become available near the market square in May that his niece could move into with her children.

He just received this message.

"The day is starting very well," he says happily this morning, while he and Ayse Yul are making preparations for lunchtime business in the "Ephesus".

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.)

Numerous people come and get all kinds of kebabs there. Osman Yul points to a man and says: "He also helped us." After the fire, the few usable belongings were taken out of the apartment and stored.

The man smiles: "It goes without saying." Short pause: "And we continue to get our food here to support the family."

Ayse Yul is too shy to say anything about what happened, her uncle Osman Yul asks for understanding.

"We thank everyone who has helped us and is still helping," he says on behalf of his niece and her children.

He points to a note from the town and business community Markt Schwaben, which is hanging on a mirror in the snack bar.

It shows a donation account that the association set up for those affected by the major fire.

Alois Rupprich from the community of entrepreneurs made one of his show apartments available to a resident.

Donation account for the fire victims

The town and business community of Markt Schwaben has set up a donation account at the Munich bank for those affected by the fire.

The recipient is the city and business community, the IBAN is: DE64 7019 0000 0202 2522 44;

Subject: Big fire help at the market place.

One of those affected is Gökhan Kirik, who ran a Turkish supermarket on the ground floor.

He is now left with nothing - and is also grateful for the great willingness to help the local population.

Both he and Osman Yul expressly include Markt Schwaben's Mayor Michael Stolze in their thanks.

Poing and Pliening: Edeka markets with fundraiser

21-year-old Adile Yul is completing an apprenticeship as a retail clerk at the Edeka store Pfeilstetter in the neighboring municipality of Pliening.

When junior boss Anna Pfeilstetter found out about the fate of the family, she and the team launched a fundraising campaign: There are notes and a small mailbox underneath on the empty packaging machines in the Edeka stores in Pliening and Poing.

Pfeilstetter asks customers to insert the empties receipt and donate the deposit money to the Yul family.

"The campaign will definitely run in February and March, at the end we will round up the amount," announces Anna Pfeilstetter.

As support for the purchase of new furniture and clothing.

The older daughter Akile (22) is currently training to be a child educator, son Haci (15) is leaving, like his two sisters before

to the market Swabian Franz-Marc-Gymnasium.

"We are very grateful for all the help," says Adile Yul quietly.
