A 23-year-old Belgian tourist, Natacha de Crombrugghe, was reported missing in Peru more than ten days ago while on her way to explore the Andean highlands, the Peruvian state agency Andina reported.
The young woman had left a backpack in her hotel room in the Andean town of Cabanaconde on January 24 before leaving to visit the Colca Canyon, a popular tourist destination in the Peruvian highlands.
Since then, she has not given any news.
“Two rescue teams from the national police have started looking for the tourist of Belgian nationality
,” Andina said, indicating that Eloy Cacya, an expert high mountain rescuer, is collaborating in this task.

The Belgian, a law graduate from the Catholic University of Louvain and who until recently worked for an insurance company, according to her LinkedIn profile, last communicated with her parents in Brussels on January 23.
She regularly shared photos and comments from her trip to Peru on social media, but suddenly stopped doing so.
His last Facebook post was on January 20.
