 Thanks to thousands of late reports, the official corona incidence in Fürstenfeldbruck has almost tripled overnight.

According to the Robert Koch Institute, the district also had the highest value in Bavaria on Friday with 3019.1.

A day earlier, the seven-day incidence was 1092.6.

According to the district office, more than 3,000 cases had “stuck” in the reporting software in the past few days.

As a result, more than 4,600 new cases were reported to the RKI from Thursday to Friday.

These late reports, dated February 1 and 2, caused the incidence to skyrocket.

And the increase should not be over yet: The district office announced further late registrations "in the order of approx. 1000".

The incidence officially reported for Fürstenfeldbruck had recently always been below the Bavarian average.

Now it is the second highest in all of Germany.

The leaders are the districts of Fürstenfeldbruck with 3019.1 and Dachau with 2741.8.

The city of Würzburg follows in third place with 2515.1.

The numbers are still extremely high due to the rapidly spreading omicron variant of the corona virus, and the state capital Munich also made an enormous leap compared to the previous day with an incidence of 2119.3.

In hospitals, a corona infection is increasingly becoming a “secondary diagnosis”.

In the omicron wave in Bavaria's hospitals, for example, a high proportion of corona patients are not being treated for Covid, but for other diseases.

However, this only applies to patients on the normal wards.

For the majority of corona intensive care patients, Covid is also the main diagnosis, as five university clinics and the RoMed clinics in Rosenheim report on request.

However, the ratios vary greatly from region to region.

While in some hospitals, such as at the LMU-Klinikum in Munich, over 65 percent of those infected are also treated for Covid, there are significantly fewer in the Rechts der Isar Clinic.

However, a clear separation of diagnoses is difficult anyway and often does not make sense, according to the statement of several clinics on request. Especially in the case of patients who already suffer from several diseases, it is often no longer possible to separate the reason for hospitalization. The situation is different for intensive care patients. If they are infected with the corona virus, this is also the reason for hospitalization in the majority of cases.

Thomas Harrer, Head of Infectious Diseases at Medical Clinic 3 in Erlangen, says a simultaneous viral infection also increases the risk of other infections.

“So you have to assume that the course of other diseases is more difficult due to a corona infection.” The vast majority of adults still come to the clinic because of corona.

"It must be taken into account that Sars-CoV-2 not only causes pneumonia, but also causes gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain and vascular problems such as thrombosis, heart attacks and strokes."

Munich – According to Minister of Education Michael Piazolo (Free Voters), the increasing Corona* numbers are now causing problems in some schools.

There are "definite bottlenecks in certain areas." That said the free voter politician on Thursday in the education committee of the state parliament.

But that varies greatly from region to region.

Overall, however, all classes in more than 90 percent of all schools are still in normal face-to-face classes.

At nine percent of the schools, individual classes are in distance learning.

The number of positive tests was recently high: in the past week, an average of seven percent of all pool tests were positive.

If this is the case, it must be further investigated which students in the class are corona infected.

Minister of Education Piazolo rejected a lowering of the examination requirements when asked in the education committee.

"Basically" you don't want to lower the performance requirements everywhere.

Because the performance deficits are very unequally distributed: many students have no problems at all.

And for everyone else, we want to build bridges together and help students to achieve the necessary level of performance.

Verdi Munich warns of the collapse of the day-care center - "The system is about to collapse"

Meanwhile, according to the service union Verdi, the situation in the day-care centers is dramatic because of the corona pandemic.

"The system is about to collapse," warned Verdi Munich on Thursday.

The employees are at the end of their strength and early childhood education is falling by the wayside.

Hygiene measures, protection against infection and a lack of staff made child-friendly support almost impossible.

In addition, new tasks are constantly being added, such as asking the children for their test results.

Verdi called for better protection and relief for the staff.

"Otherwise the system will collapse at some point and then there will be no one left to take care of the children," said trade unionist Merle Pisarz.

In Munich alone, at least 200 daycare centers are affected by group closures.

Some facilities in Bavaria are even completely closed.
