Demo in Regensburg: Irritant gas sprayed - 42-year-old faces the police

One of the opponents injured several people by spraying tear gas - three of them had to go to the hospital for outpatient treatment.

According to current knowledge, this is a 42-year-old woman.

She has since turned herself in to the police.

She is still under investigation.

According to the police, a 26-year-old on the side of the "walkers" was knocked down by two strangers and seriously injured in the head "almost at the same time".

He had to be hospitalized but has since been released.

He has since testified to the police.

A message is also circulating in the telegram groups of the opponents of the measure, which apparently comes from the person concerned.

The authenticity of this chat message has not been officially confirmed, but its description corresponds to information that an eyewitness to the incident gave to our editorial team.

According to our research, the message is authentic.

The 26-year-old, who was seriously injured on Monday, is now speaking via Telegram.

Alleged victim: "Violence always comes from a minority."

Accordingly, the two attackers belonged to neither of the two groups.

The allegedly affected person writes in a telegram chat (spelling taken from the original):

"I stood between Antifa and walkers and wanted to de-escalate to ensure there were no clashes.

Since there have already been clashes at the Neupfarrpaltz.

The counter-protesters holding this banner did not attack me and they were pepper sprayed themselves, but I don't know much about that."

The “perpetrator and his colleague” were added later.

One would have insulted him as a Nazi.

When he replied that the person opposite was probably the only Nazi here, he was hit in the head.

Then the two people fled.

The injured person responds to the incident in a differentiated manner.

"Generalization and any form of violence" should be "condemned".

Even with Antifa, not all are potential killers.

"Such violence always comes from a minority."

He had previously turned his back to the other group, which he claims to have identified as Antifa, several times and for longer periods and had not been hit, kicked or attacked in any other way.

Police offer rewards and search homes

The police do not want to confirm or deny the descriptions “for reasons of investigation tactics”.

"A large number of interrogations were carried out, evidence secured and search warrants carried out," it says.

In the meantime, the investigators have set up an upload portal where photos and videos can be uploaded.

The State Criminal Police Office has also offered a reward of 2,000 euros for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators.
