Miesbach – Charging stations for e-cars are to be built at Habererplatz in Miesbach.

City council now has concrete plans.

It shouldn't be too long before owners of electric cars will be able to charge their vehicles at Habererplatz in Miesbach.

Two columns with four charging points are planned.

Building it has so far failed due to the costs.

As Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller reported at the most recent meeting of the city council, sponsors have now been found who will take over the open 10,000 euros.

Alexander Usselmann from Bayernwerk explained the operation of charging stations.

"It's high time," said Michael Lechner (FWG).

"We should get into the pot now." The city councilors have discussed charging stations on Habererplatz several times since 2017. Almost a year ago, the committee decided not to discuss engagement in the area again until the funding guidelines change.

Four hours free parking

In the meantime, an energy supplier has submitted an offer.

The company would take over the construction and operation of the charging stations if the city contributed 10,000 euros to the construction.

Braunmiller has now raised the money through sponsors.

So nothing stands in the way of the four charging stations.

They are to be built near the parking spaces between the pedestrian walkway and the transformer station on Habererplatz.

If you charge your vehicle there - green electricity should flow - you can park for four hours free of charge.

"We should do that this year," appealed Kick van Walbeek (Greens) and was pleased that there were now two parallel options.

Various models at Habererplatz

In the meantime, the administration has also identified a funding program and, as a precautionary measure, has already submitted an application – which is not yet concrete.

With success.

The city can expect a subsidy of 32,000 euros.

The city was left with costs of 13,000 euros for two charging stations with four connections.

Bayernwerk municipal supervisor Usselmann presented various models for operation.

An energy supplier could take care of that.

But it should also be considered whether the city itself buys electricity through its municipal contracts and sells it on at the charging stations.

In this way, costs can be reduced, and Usselmann even considers profits of up to 2,000 euros to be possible.

"It's not the city's job to do something like this," Erhard Pohl (CSU) made his city point clear again.

Charging stations at Eisstadion and Rathausstraße

Markus Seemüller (FWG) also advocated that the city should only provide the reason.

With regard to energy requirements, he once again advocated that municipalities look for ways to generate electricity themselves.

Seemüller also wanted to have the ice stadium and Rathausstrasse checked as possible locations for charging stations, and Pohl the Warmbad.

Manfred Burger (Greens), on the other hand, warned against establishing too many individual locations: “We get search traffic that we don’t want.” A central location with several charging options is better.

The city council did not make a decision on this.
