Bavaria's Prime Minister is calling for gradual easing for Germany and is presenting his own plans for openings in the coming weeks.

Munich - Europe relaxes.

Even if the omicron wave in the corona pandemic is still about to peak in many places, more and more countries have announced drastic opening steps in recent days and weeks.

However, Germany is still far behind when it comes to announcements.

According to the federal government, the infection situation currently seems too precarious.

On Wednesday, the RKI announced over 200,000 new corona infections within 24 hours.

Corona loosening: Prime Minister Söder presents a nationwide opening plan

Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) now also wants to give the citizens of Germany a perspective on easing and has presented an opening plan to

, which he believes should be implemented gradually in the coming weeks.

"We should now take consistent opening steps," said the CSU boss.

Söder initially agrees with Finance Minister Christian Lindner's (FDP) demand that the 2G regulation for retail should be overturned nationwide.

Instead, only FFP2 masks would be compulsory in shops in the future.

In the catering trade, on the other hand, the 2G regulation should be retained.

However, Söder wants to abolish the mandatory requirement for a daily quick test - the so-called 2G Plus regulation.

Söder on corona loosening: fundamentally rethink contact restrictions

Söder believes that there should also be relaxation for cultural and sporting events.

At cultural events, the CSU boss proposes an increase in the permitted audience capacity from 50 to 75 percent.

In football, 50 percent of the original capacity should be made possible if distances can be maintained.

The 55-year-old also calls for a rethink of the contact restrictions.

The principle should be followed.

“Where FFP2 masks are worn, contact restrictions can be reduced.

The Federal Minister of Health has to draw up a step-by-step plan for this," the Prime Minister suggests and takes Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) to task.

Söder contradicts Lauterbach: return to recovered status "as it applies in Europe"

Söder, on the other hand, contradicts the SPD minister with regard to the validity of the recovered status in Germany.

Here the federal government should return to the old regulation.

“The recovered status must be discussed again in the Bundestag.

We have to return to the six-month convalescent status that applies in Europe,” explains Söder, also addressing Lauterbach, who supports the convalescent status being valid for only three months.

When it comes to travel, Söder calls for the travel rules to be lifted with regard to risk areas.

"Incidence has had its day as a benchmark at Omikron," says the 55-year-old.

The focus must therefore be more on a test offer for those returning from travel.

Vaccination obligation: Söder demands - "If this obligation comes, other regulations must fall"

According to the CSU boss, further fundamental easing should also be linked to the introduction of a general obligation to vaccinate.

“With the introduction of compulsory vaccination, a path must also be described which rules can be deleted for this.

Because if this obligation comes, other regulations have to fall, ”demands Söder

With a view to the institution-related vaccination requirement for nursing professions, the 55-year-old demanded that this should be postponed or suspended if there was a “real nursing emergency”.
