A large missing person search for a hiker (23) ran on Thursday and Friday in the Herzogstand area.
The woman was found dead on Friday afternoon.
Update from February 4, 7:16 p.m .:
The search for missing persons in the Herzogstand area did not end well.
On Friday around 2:50 p.m., a person was spotted in the water of the Deiningsbach from the air.
"As it turned out, it was the young woman," reports the police.
Any help came too late for the 23-year-old.
The mountain guides of the police could only save her dead.
The exact cause of the accident has not yet been determined.
According to the current status, it is assumed that the mountain accident was the only person involved.
The investigations of the Alpine task force of the police are still ongoing.
A total of eleven police officers and 17 mountain rescue services were deployed.
The Penzberg mountain rescue service made its technical vehicle available.

The search for a missing hiker has been going on in the Herzogstand area since Thursday evening.
The young woman from Bamberg, who is currently visiting her sister in Munich, left the Herzogstandbahn parking lot at around 10 a.m. on Thursday and made her way towards the Herzogstand summit.
At around 3:15 p.m., the young woman last had contact with relatives.
At this point, she sent her sister a picture and a voice message via WhatsApp.
The picture showed them climbing, a few meters from the Herzogstandbahn valley station.

As the story progresses, the trail of the 23-year-old is lost.
After the facts became known, a search operation by the police and mountain rescue service using a helicopter began in the evening hours.
The search for missing persons, which was unsuccessfully canceled during the night, resumed early on Friday morning and is still ongoing.
The police and mountain rescue service have set up a total of six alpine search parties.
Rescuers from the Kochel am See, Benediktbeuern and Penzberg mountain rescue services are currently out in the field.
As an officer from the Bad Tölz Police Inspectorate reports, the sometimes very dense fog is currently a major challenge for the emergency services during the search.
Missing at the Herzogstand: The police are asking for information on the whereabouts of Sophia H.
Sophia H. is described as follows: The young woman is about 1.70 meters tall and has long blonde-brown hair.
She was carrying a light red backpack and was wearing a dark winter jacket, dark trousers, a blue cap and red hiking boots.
