Greek authorities announced today that the bodies of three mountaineers were found missing yesterday.
The Associated Press quoted Greek authorities as saying that the three climbers, aged between 50 and 55, set off yesterday morning on a trip to climb Mount Helmos in the southwestern Peloponnese region, adding that the climbers stopped their car near the Kalavrita ski resort and left
A number with the resort's workers to communicate with them in the event of any emergency, and the workers contacted the authorities when they noticed that the car had not moved from its place throughout the day.
She added that attempts to communicate with the climbers failed, so rescue teams, 22 firefighters and two helicopters were sent, in addition to drones, where the bodies of the three climbers were found today.
According to the local authorities, the cause of death may be due to the climbers drifting after an avalanche.
