The Directorate of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform in the Damascus Countryside Governorate announced the distribution of forestry plants free of charge to the willing citizens, starting tomorrow, within the framework of the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform under the slogan (Our forests are our past, our present is our future).
The head of the Forestry Department in the governorate, Bilal Al-Shelli, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the campaign will continue until the end of next April and include the distribution of 5 forestry plants to each family, ranging from cypress, fruit pine, palms of all kinds, and others. Families have to farm and restore the vegetation cover to what it was.
Al-Shelly indicated that at the end of each week a new program will be developed that includes other towns and villages in the governorate, stressing that there is a sufficient number of plants to cover the needs, and citizens can obtain the plants for free from the nurseries of Aqraba, Al-Duweir, Maysaloon and Nabe' Barada during the official working hours.
