The 20-year-old came from near Alzey (Rhineland-Palatinate), the police wrote.

An alcohol test showed the young man had a blood alcohol level of 1.5.

He was unharmed during his walk on the freeway.

The Toyota sustained minor damage.

The dangerous situation on the highway arose because, according to the police report, the man felt an urgent need to “get out”.

The driver of the car therefore stopped on the shoulder of the A67.
