Wind power is still on everyone's lips.

In Bavaria, however, the 10H regulation still stands in the way of the construction of wind turbines.

Nevertheless, one wants to "actively push" in Eching on the subject.

Eching

– The application from the BfE, FM and ÖDP met with broad approval in the municipal council.

Probably also because their spokesman Alexander Krimmer made it clear that they would “take the citizens with them” and design the systems as energy cooperatives as far as possible.

In order to get the ball rolling, he suggested exploring the wind power potential in Echinger Flur and carrying out a site analysis.

Without circumventing the 10H rule, it would probably all be in vain.

Therefore, in a short presentation of the application, Krimmer suggested overcoming this obstacle by means of a development plan.

According to Krimmer, the applicants also intend to commission a neutral planning office in order to put the noble goal into practice.

The administration referred to existing mapping in the district and to the fact that without bypassing 10H it would indeed be difficult to find a suitable location for a wind turbine.

Martina Britz, responsible for planning and environmental protection in the town hall, spoke of very few areas, which is also due to the no-fly zones.

Another topic during the subsequent debate was that the areas south of Eching are almost exclusively in the landscape protection area.

Irrespective of this, Britz also considered a development plan specially designed for wind power.

This would give you a privilege.

The applicants met with skepticism from Mayor Sebastian Thaler with their proposal to give the matter more emphasis with a council or citizens' request.

Among other things, Georg Bartl (CSU) had spoken out in favor of it.

"Not that there's too much resistance," he argued.

Thaler showed understanding for the possibly negative attitude within the population.

According to Thaler, he can understand the "not in my backyard" argument.

However, the question is: "When does the municipal council want to involve the citizens?"

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

According to the head of the municipality, it is best to specify the locations in the zoning plan.

He sees the danger that discussions will take place without reliable facts.

If so, then the matter must be concrete, Thaler commented on the necessary preparation.

The application of the BfE, FM and ÖDP was approved in the end, and the potential and location analysis for wind energy use on the Echinger Flur was commissioned.

An analysis of photovoltaics is currently in progress.

For cost reasons, this order will be expanded to include wind power.
