Hurricane gusts, snowfall, continuous rain: the DWD issued several official weather warnings on Sunday.

In Germany it remains uncomfortable for the time being.

Berlin – Stormy, heavy rain, isolated thunderstorms: Germany is facing an uncomfortable Sunday.

The DWD has also issued several official severe weather warnings, some of which are threatened by hurricane-force gusts of wind.

A look at the warning map shows that a large part of the Federal Republic is colored orange and red on Sunday morning.

Means: Here the DWD warns of striking weather.

A colorful mix of all uncomfortable weather conditions: in North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse there is a threat of continuous rain until Monday night, in Saxony and in eastern Bavaria there is an official warning of snowfall, in many other regions it gets really windy and gusts of wind can reach speeds of up to 85 kilometers achieve per hour.

This affects the areas around Magdeburg, Dresden, Potsdam, Wiesbaden, down to the south of Germany, to Stuttgart and Munich.

Said warnings are mostly valid until midnight.

Occasionally, the storms can develop into hurricane-like gusts with a speed of up to 100 kilometers per hour.

These severe weather warnings apply until early Monday morning in southern Baden-Württemberg, between Freiburg and Villingen-Schwenningen.

But the south and east of Bavaria is also affected by the red DWD warning level*.

In addition, there can be occasional thunderstorms, first in the north, during the day the storms will move to the central part of the country.

A small ray of hope in all these rather gloomy prospects: at least the temperatures remain reasonably pleasant today, with values ​​between three and ten degrees.

By the way, at the start of the new week the weather remains changeable: A mix of snow, sleet and sleet showers is sweeping across Germany.
