About two weeks ago, President Yitzhak Herzog also paid his first official visit to the Emirates.
It is intended with the regent of Abu Dhabi and the de facto ruler of the UAE, Muhammad bin Zayed.
During his visit, the union's air defense systems intercepted a ballistic missile in the Abu Dhabi sky fired by the Houthis in Yemen.
A statement from the President's Office stated that Ben-Zayed emphasized that Israel and the United Arab Emirates shared their views on the threats to the stability of the region from militias and terrorist organizations, as well as regarding the need to take a rigid stance against them.
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett also paid a visit to Abu Dhabi in December.
"I appreciate your warm hospitality, it's a wonderful welcome," Bennett said upon landing.
"I am very excited to be here, on the first official visit of an Israeli leader here. We look forward to strengthening the relationship between the two countries."
