Presidential 2022: the majority thinks out loud while waiting for Macron

2022-02-06T20:20:20.698Z

From François Bayrou to Édouard Philippe, Macronist officials discussed "the France of tomorrow" on Sunday. A way to forget their bickering and occupy the field, for lack of an officially declared candidate.

The Aubervilliers docks have been transformed into a huge waiting room.

Still hanging on to the official declaration of Emmanuel Macron's presidential candidacy, the leaders of the majority, from François Bayrou to Edouard Philippe, made their activists wait on Sunday, occupying the ground.

A scene with a dark background, guests without ties and four round tables: during a symposium without an audience broadcast online for four hours, with experts and members of "civil society", the Macronists wanted to reflect on "the France of tomorrow".

Understand: try to forget their bickering while trying to place themselves in overhang, facing the Zemmour-Le Pen duel and a divided left.

"All the other political currents are tearing each other apart, insulting each other and anathematizing each other"

, declared the initiator of the event, the centrist François Bayrou, congratulating himself on the contrary for the

"unitary approach of the

majority

. In addition to La République en Marche (LREM) and the Democratic Movement (MoDem), all the pro-Macron parties were represented: Territories of Progress, In Common, the Radical Party, Agir et Horizons, the recent party of Édouard Philippe .

A way of underlining the return of the ex-prime minister to the bosom of the “common house” of the majority, three months after its launch.

He himself assures him:

"the incident is closed"

, after the failure of the merger between his Horizons party and the Agir movement, prevented by Emmanuel Macron.

Brainstorming

As a sign of good will, everyone lent themselves to the game of brainstorming.

Edouard Philippe called for a

"regrouping of our country around scientific education"

, a tool of French

"power"

.

The Minister of Public Accounts, Olivier Dussopt, defended

"rationality"

in the face of

"conspiracy"

.

The Minister of Ecological Transition, Barbara Pompili, for her part reflected aloud on the need for a

“narrative”,

to explain to the French that

“the society of tomorrow”

will

“change our lives for the better”

.

“Reconquest of production”, “effectiveness of public action”, “identity of France”… Behind the themes addressed, several avenues for a future program by Emmanuel Macron have been sketched out.

Thus the priority given to education and training, the strengthening of profit-sharing in the company, the creation of a

"principle of innovation"

for scientists, or even the reform of the State to

"gain readability"

- a wish dear to the President of the National Assembly, Richard Ferrand.

"Let's look ahead

",

"in a constructive and positive way"

, insisted the boss of LREM Stanislas Guerini, two months before the presidential election.

Without however taking the risk of evoking the legislative elections of June, aware that the negotiations with his friends of the majority promise to be explosive.
