In 2022, Queen Elizabeth II will celebrate her 70th jubilee on the throne.

Nevertheless, she already has the future of the throne and a certain person firmly in view.

London – What an achievement: Queen Elizabeth II has been at the head of the British royal family for 70 years.

Her special jubilee is to be celebrated in style this year.

A four-day glittering festival is already planned in her honor.

There will be parades, concerts and parties across the UK to mark the platinum anniversary, including the annual traditional Trooping the Color military parade.

But despite the great anticipation, the 95-year-old always has the future of the British royal family firmly in view.

Queen Elizabeth II: Ironically, for the throne jubilee, she regulates her successor

After all, after the death of her beloved husband Prince Philip * († 99) in April 2021, she knows only too well how quickly life can be over.

For years it has been puzzling who will follow her to the British throne * once she is gone.

In the past, malicious tongues have repeatedly rumored that their son and heir to the throne Prince Charles* (73) will be skipped and that their grandson Prince William (39) will immediately ascend the throne due to his greater popularity.

But now the Queen has cleared the situation once and for all in an official statement.

In it, she not only silences voices that have already speculated about a possible abdication* just in time for the 70th anniversary of the throne, but also speaks out in favor of her son Charles as the successor and his wife, Duchess Camilla* (74).

In the statement, the Queen also expresses her wish that the British people will "support her daughter-in-law in the same way" as they have done for herself.

She also hopes that "Camilla will be recognized as the king's wife*" when Prince Charles succeeds his mother to the throne in due course.

The head of the king is sure, he explains in the letter, that Duchess Camilla* will do her job in the service of the British crown.

Charles and Camilla have previously told the PA news agency that they are "moved and honored" by the Queen's grand gesture.

The couple also took to their official Instagram account to express their gratitude for the Queen's many years of service.
