In May last year, Naomi Perlman, a 91-year-old Holocaust survivor, was seriously injured in a rocket fire on the city of Ashkelon.

After her injury, Naomi's condition deteriorated, until she passed away on Tuesday (Saturday).

In the same barrage, the nursing worker who cared for her, Sahomi Sandush, was killed by a rocket that hit Naomi's house directly.



Naomi immigrated to Israel from Poland with her father and mother after fleeing from the Nazis.

In Ashkelon she lived with her husband Yaakov, and they bought the house where the rocket hit 64 years ago.

Perlman left two children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ashkelon Mayor Tomer Glam paid tribute to Naomi and said: "We received the sad news of the death of a Holocaust survivor, a resident of Ashkelon. Since the injury, Naomi has undergone a series of surgeries and treatments, but her condition continued to deteriorate until she became a nurse and sadly passed away."

The mayor added that "our hearts are with her dear family. May you know no more sorrow and be comforted from heaven."
