The artists participating in the exhibition “Candles of Youth… for Sabah Al Bayat” were inspired by the songs of the late great Sabah Fakhri, using different methods and schools.

The exhibition, which was held by the Shumua Al-Salam Association in cooperation with the Union of Plastic Artists and the Directorate of Culture in Aleppo, was hosted by Al-Assad Gallery for Fine Arts, with the participation of 33 artists from different governorates. Jaber Al-Sajour, Director of Culture in Aleppo, explained that this exhibition is a tribute to what the late Fakhri presented during his artistic career, which reached internationality, which confirms the brilliance of the Syrian artistic movement and the continuation of its roots through generations.

Lina Rizk, head of the Shamwa al-Salam Association, indicated that this event comes to honor the late Fakhri as a great artistic stature, and it is our duty to pay tribute to his spirit through this exhibition.

Among the participants, the artist Najla Dalati chose the song Isqi Al-Atash to embody it in her painting because this work is from the eyes of Arab singing and the late had a role in reviving it and presenting it to the audience.

From Damascus, the artist Manuela Al-Hakim came to participate in a portrait of the late Fakhri, in which she combined words from his famous songs through feathers, colors, inks and reeds.

The artist Khaldoun Al-Ahmad stressed the importance of honoring the late artist Fakhri through these exhibitions, which are considered a card of love and loyalty to what he presented during his artistic career of epics of singing and singing.

The young artist Ahmed Darwish participated in a portrait using the realistic method to embody the features of the late Fakhri in a way that symbolizes that the city of Aleppo has two castles, its lofty castle throughout history and Sabah Fakhri, pointing out that such exhibitions contribute to revitalizing the artistic movement and reviving the authentic Syrian heritage.

Among the attendees, the plastic artist, Faten Al-Helou, noted the importance of the exhibition to honor the artistic strengths in the city of Aleppo, wishing to transfer this initiative to all governorates.
