A7/Berkheim – To an accident involving nine, some of whom were no longer roadworthy;
Vehicles came on Saturday (February 5th, 2022) on the A7 near Berkheim after several drivers had overlooked the end of the traffic jam.

In the late morning, three consecutive rear-end collisions occurred on the A7 near Berkheim in heavy traffic.
First, the driver of a VW Touran recognized the end of the traffic jam too late and drove into the vehicle in front.
A total of four vehicles were damaged.
The driver of a following VW Tiguan recognized the scene of the accident too late and drove into the last vehicle.
The following two cars noticed the situation and were able to brake in time.
However, the driver of a BMW X3 did not succeed.
He drove into the car in front of him and pushed it onto the vehicle in front of him.
A total of nine (partly valuable) vehicles were damaged in the three accidents.
The total damage amounts to around 60,000 euros.
Only two vehicles remained drivable, for the remaining seven a towing service had to be called.
Fortunately, only one person was slightly injured.
The A7 and the Berkheim junction in the north had to be completely closed for 3.5 hours.
Due to leaking fuel and vehicle parts lying around, the road had to be cleaned using special equipment.
