With a commission, the green-black state government wants to draw lessons from the corona pandemic for future crises and also let citizens have their say.
The planned commission of inquiry "Crisis-proof society" should develop new proposals on how to arm oneself against crises such as cyber attacks or the climate crisis, said Greens parliamentary group leader Andreas Schwarz on Monday when the plans were presented.
Stuttgart - A group of experts, members of parliament and citizens is to develop new ideas by spring 2024.
Schwarz emphasized that the commission was not a "labber-up event" and that he was expecting concrete ideas for crisis management.
CDU faction leader Manuel Hagel emphasized that while lessons were being learned from the pandemic, the focus was on the future.
The members of the Commission should look at the areas of health, society, crisis prevention and the economy.

Originally, the state government wanted to submit an application for such a commission together with the SPD and FDP.
According to Schwarz and Hagel, after months of deliberations, the Liberals and Social Democrats have now been invited to participate, but there is no joint application.
The opposition only wants to spread blame in the rear-view mirror, said Hagel.
"That's too cheap for us." dpa
