Along with his demand for the establishment of an investigative committee, Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai today (Monday) ordered the Investigations and Intelligence Division to immediately check the list of surveillance published this morning in Calcalist.
According to Calcalist's exposure, the police hung up the spyware without opening an investigation and without legal approval.
Among those "infected" with the software are Walla! Journalist, former Walla! CEO Ilan Yeshua and former editor-in-chief Aviram Elad, Stella Handler, former CEO of Bezeq, Iris Alovich, the spouse of the former controlling shareholder in Bezeq, former CEOs of the Ministry of Finance Turner and Shai in the Av Beit Din, businessman Rami Levy, Amy Palmor, former director general of the Ministry of Justice, Yair Katz, chairman of the IAI Workers' Committee and son of MK Haim Katz, former directorates of the Ministry of Communications, Avi Berger and Shlomo Pilber, Dudu Mizrahi Bezeq CEO Avner Netanyahu, son of former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Netanyahu's advisers Yonatan Orich and Topaz Lok, Yoram Simhon, mayor of Mevaseret Zion, Miriam Feierberg, mayor of Netanya, Moti Sasson, mayor of Holon and Yaakov Peretz, mayor of Kiryat Ata.
