The state of Baden-Württemberg still has 3.4 billion euros in its reserve for dealing with the Corona crisis.
The green-black government has filled the pot for budgetary risks with the help of new debt to 10.7 billion euros since the beginning of the pandemic.
The German Press Agency learned from the Ministry of Finance in Stuttgart that a good 5.4 billion euros had been paid out by the end of last year.
Stuttgart - For the current year, expenditures of around 1.9 billion euros have been approved from the pot.
The country still has a buffer of 3.4 billion euros.
Finance Minister Danyal Bayaz was optimistic that the financial cushion would be sufficient.
“As of today, we assume that our reserves are sufficient.
But we have to be careful," said the Green politician of the dpa.
“I continue to be a risk manager as well, the pandemic is still weighing on us.
We have to drive on sight.” The background is that it is still not entirely clear how the pandemic will continue.
In addition, there could be costs for a fourth vaccination or for compulsory vaccination in the country.

At the end of 2021, the green-black coalition decided on a budget without new debt, also because the tax estimate had shown an increase of 2.5 billion euros for this year.
In the coalition, however, it was not ruled out that, in an emergency, there could be an addendum with new debts.
